Praia Da Rocha, Bars & Clubs section. Praia Da Rocha is one of the more lively resorts in the Algarve. Here you are sure to find almost anything you desire. Ranging from exotic bars on the outskirts to more family orientated places more central. Irish Bars are the main theme in Praia Da Rocha, however you will also find the odd English and Welsh bar dotted amongst them.

Praia da Rocha also has two nightclubs which tend to open at midnight and do not close until around 6am in the summer season. These are called Babylon which is just tucked behind the back of the Red Lion pub on the main strip. The other one is called Kathederal and is based at the end of the strip near the Praia da Rocha tourist information centre

As already stated Praia da Rocha can seem to be predominantly an Irish resort, but there is certainly enough places to keep all nationalities happy.

There is a lovely bar called Squash Pub which is located right next to Clube Praia da Rocha. This is owned by Paulo (Portuguese) and his wife Natacha who is originally from Dublin. They have a pol table, 3 large screens inside for all your sports and reality shows and a lovely outdoor decking area again with a large screen.

Up on the main strip you have JDs which has a great rear area overlooking the beach and sea views. In here in the afternoons and early evening you will find Jasper the Hammer who has lived in Portugal now for close to 25 years and then at around 9pm Portuguese barmen take over to take you into the early hours with some loud music!

Kerris Bar is located at the bottom end of Praia da Rocha down near the fortress end. This is a quiter bar which I would suggest for couple without kids. They have no TV or loud blaring music, just background CDs playing nicely. Ideal for a cilled out evening.
