How Travel Agencies Work
In order for a business to operate, it needs a certain flow of processes that defines its work day. Travel agencies, like most businesses, operate using a specific process. Now, how does a travel agency go about its business day?
First, we have to understand what a travel agency is. By definition, the travel agency is a company that acts as a middleman between a holiday maker and the many establishments that he will need to contact in order to facilitate his holiday like hotels, airlines and others.
Now, everything starts with correspondence with a potential client. Most of these will be inquiries about packages, prices, and other services. Once the client makes up his mind regarding the agency’s service, the process then moves on to the next step.
The client then chooses a certain package, or in some cases, specifies his preferences like hotel rating, airline class and schedule, destination, date of departure and duration of holiday. With these information, the agency can come up with an offer and a price for the client to consider. The standard practice is to actually offer more than one option so that the client can choose which one is most ideal for his needs.
Once the client has made his mind, the agency is now tasked with contacting the necessary establishments. This means that the agency will now book the flight for the client, reserve hotel accommodation and arrange tours, if needed. All in all, it is working for the client instead of having the client make the arrangements himself.
