Cars and Travelling
It is remarkable how much automobiles have changed the nature of travelling. Because of its invention, travelling is now easier for everyone.
For several centuries, man relied on horses and carriages in order to move back and forth from town to town. While this has been effective for a long time, it is certainly a very slow way to travel. Going from town to town usually goes for a day, and days more if the destination is a considerable distance away from the point of origin.
Cars have changed all that. With cars, it is now possible to shorten travelling from one city or town to another in just a matter of hours. It is also possible to reach destinations within one locale in just a span of a few minutes depending on the traffic. The invention of cars has made it possible for people to accomplish a lot more errands in just a day as compared to the old days. Cars are also very ideal for those with very busy schedules as they can finish a lot more work as compared to walking or horseback riding.
Cars are not the only forms of transportation that have changed in the past century. In the old days, people had to rely on ships that are propelled by the wind to travel very long distances like, i.e. from country to country which can take months or even a year to accomplish. Now they are able to travel to a country in just a matter of hours via aeroplanes or improved steamships.
